Last time i jotted a blog post about the farm was back in February. It is now the towards the end of April, and much has been conquered with more yet to come. We have been going full blast since back in February making sure the farm is at its highest standard while battling heavy input costs and large amounts of work. February 12, a special day for a citrus farmer. It is a good day to figure that you are finally out of freeze danger. The California citrus crop is generally most at risk of freezing during the time period from the second week in December till Lincolns birthday. On Lincolns birthday you can best bet you'll start seeing almond blooms beginning to pop in the San Joaquin Valley of Ca which means frost danger is gone.
